A special type of alopecia (extreme hair loss) is called trichotillomania and is caused by a neurotic nature. People who suffer from this disease pull the hair from their head until they become completely bald. Sometimes the hair loss may start only in certain areas, so people may assume at first glance that the person has some inflammatory skin problem. But if you look more closely, you will notice that new, short healthy hairs are growing on those parts, which means that the disease is not of any physical nature.
